The US chip-making giant has signed a contract with Tata Projects for the construction of the plant which will be built in a phased manner. Phase 1 will be operational by late 2024
Two major semiconductor projects are currently in the works in Sanand, according to India's Union Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw. Although he did not provide details about the proposals, he mentioned that they will focus on a specific area where India has the potential to become a global leader. Vaishnaw also highlighted the progress India has made in the semiconductor segment, making it an attractive destination for global industry players.
The Assembly, Test, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) of the company is being set up on a 93 acre land in Sanand GIDC-II industrial estate.
