Punch Newspapers Sections Wale Oyewale Residents  of Ibarapa in Oyo State have urged Governor Seyi Makinde to fortify Amotekun corps, local hunters and other local security groups in the state to tackle insecurity. They spoke during the security summit organised in some parts of the area on Saturday by the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin. The summit was convened as a response to the spate of kidnappings, killings, banditry, armed robbery, rape and destruction of farmlands by some killer herders in the area. The summit, which Ogundoyin said was aimed at enabling stakeholders to assess the security situation and to suggest ways of addressing the problem, were held simultaneously at the Teachers’ Plaza, Igboora and in Idere.

Akinwale Aboluwade  The Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, has convened security summits on the tide of kidnappings, killings, banditry, armed robbery, rape and destruction of farmlands by killer herders in Ibarapaland. The summits, which Ogundoyin said was aimed at enabling stakeholders to assess the security situation and also suggest ways to address the problem were held simultaneously at the Teachers’ Plaza, Igboora and Idere. The summits garnered the youth and students bodies, farmers groups, transporters, butchers, cattle sellers, religious leaders, hunters, vigilance groups and OPC among others with the Obas and chiefs in Ibarapaland. In their comments at the summits, the residents appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to allocate special funds and required logistics to tackle insecurity in the zone.
