The entire part of this state will get whacked starting later tonight. As we track this storm, right now 155 mileperhour winds, category 4 storm. A track we re watching between clear water near tampa and down to fort myers. At some point somebody will feel the effects of this monster out there that is milton. Look at the size of this. Remember we were in studio yesterday and janice was with us and j. D. Was talking about the eye of the storm and how perfectly formed it was. Almost like a pin right there. Overnight it tended to change its shape a little bit. So the storm is shifting somewhat. Still moving east/northeast but we won t know who is going to take that wallop until milton makes up i ....
An hour ago to a category 4 but a serious and deadly storm that will have the target of the west coast of florida in its sights sometime later tonight and early tomorrow morning. I think that even you are saying wow, this one is big and monster by comparison even. Bill: you know, i think it is storm 21. I m back at a hotel where i was five years ago. Florida will take a wallop here. They were predicting earlier today there will be a part of the west coast of florida that will have a storm surge of eight to ten feet. Think about that now. Those low lying barrier islands that have been so built up over the past 50 years. The population increase on the west coast of florida. This is going to be a doozy. Experts describe milton as a once in a century storm and folks in tampa are taking heed. Very toug ....
Because it comes about this time every day, 11:00 a. M. Eastern, we get an update from the national hurricane center. And we ll wait to see what they say about the massive hurricane milton that caused 6 million people to evacuate in its path in the state of florida. The life threatening storm is now moving toward florida s gulf coast. Forecasters say it will slam into that peninsula. Late tonight or into the early hours of tomorrow. What they are looking at is exactly where it will hit. They aren t saying it is not going to hit. Some forecasters are saying is storm surge could be higher than what it was in hurricane katrina which left more than 1,300 people dead. The evacuations, though, this time are the benefit of what we learned, we pray, from katrina. So many people moving out of the way. Not everybody, but most. Is going to be different here just so the difference what they are used to and what this will be as a way to hopefully give them more encouragement and know they need to get out there to speak with thank you, madame vice president. We have been emphasizing size and intensity of the storm which is unusual and really raises that storm surge risk for the west coast of florida. We typically see hurricanes west coast florida south/southeast parallel to the coach, coast and raises the storm surge risk and size of the storm will produce hazardous impacts across much of the peninsula. But the surge risk on both coasts of hurricaneforce winds and flooding rain fall threat and tornadoes to try to reemphasize the scale and breadth of the threat which is somewhat unusual for milton.
