Sensex, Nifty Rise As Bond Yields Retreat

Indian shares were notably higher in early trade on Thursday as global bond yields pulled back further off recent highs on the back of a round of soft surveys on manufacturing.
Within financials, its top picks include ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finance, ICICI Prudential Life, Cholamandalam Finance and SBI Cards.
UltraTech Cement was the biggest gainer in the Sensex pack, rising 2.43 per cent, followed by NTPC, Tata Motors, Infosys, Power Grid, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti, Wipro and SBI were the major gainers. In contrast, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and JSW Steel were the major laggards.
Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty pared early losses to close higher for a second straight session on Wednesday, supported by fag-end buying in index majors Infosys, L&T and M&M amid a mixed trend in global markets. In a volatile trade, the 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 137.50 points
If the Nifty fails to hold above 19,250, it can slip to 19,000 but if it sustains above the 50-day EMA, the index can move close to 19,500-19,600, experts said
