(WAND) - The U.S. Economic Development Administration announced two Illinois programs have been designated as part of 31 Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs.
The 31 Tech Hubs, initiated by the CHIPS and Science Act, aim to bolster public-private partnerships in various tech sectors, enhancing job opportunities.
The Richmond region was designated as an Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Tech Hub and another received a strategy development grant.
Elevate Rapid City was one of 29 community applicants nationwide awarded a $500,000 Strategy Development Grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration’s Tech Hubs Program.
The highly competitive designation comes with a $500,000 planning grant and the opportunity to receive an additional $50 million-$75 million in federal funding for wood fiber biproducts innovation.
