'Shadow/Land' world premiere from Public Theater | NewYorkTheaterGuide.com

Shadow/Land will premiere on April 13 as part of its free streaming service.
Set during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, a young woman convinces her mother to sell their family business.
Shadow/Land is the first in a 10-part series of plays examining the disastrous effects of Hurricane Katrina and how its long-lasting damage can still be felt in present-day society.
“Shadow/Land began as a recovery project through which I resurrected my family's business as all photographs of Shadowland were claimed by The Flood that followed Hurricane Katrina” said Dickerson-Despenza. “The play grew into a timely meditation on how apocalypse clarifies or redirects our wanting. It is an epic exploration of queer Black southern women navigating disaster, duty and desire.”
