General Electric's aerospace unit has signed an agreement with India's Hindustan Aeronautics to jointly produce engines in India to power fighter jets for the IAF. The GE engine in question is called the F414 and will power Tejas Mark 2 and India's next-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft. The deal is a milestone in the increasing ties between the US and India, two countries that were once on opposite sides of the Cold War.
