The Jammu and Kashmir Government is going to train 5000 young professionals this year, and equip them with the requisite skill sets of the Financial Services Sector in order to create employment opportunities for them. The government also announced a new scheme –
Tejaswini under Mission Youth, through which financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs to the girls between the age group of 18-35 years will be provided to start their businesses. During the recently held
Back to Village programme, around 9000 youth were identified for financial support for starting their enterprise. The expected target has been exceeded and 18,500 youth have been extended the financial support to start their own business units. Also, two IT Towers, one each in Jammu and Srinagar would be ready in their estimated timeframes. The government under Mission Youth is aiming to engage 80 per cent of youth in livelihood generation by 2025. The recent report of the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy has also stated that Jammu and Kashmir has less unemployment rate than States and UTs like Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. The unemployment rate in the UT has gone down to 9 per cent from 16.1 per cent in September 2020. The information was delved by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha last week.

SRINAGAR, Apr 10: The J&K Government is working on robust and efficient digital network infrastructure in the hinterland to provide transparent financial services to the people. The aim is to bridge the gap between rural & urban pockets, and ensure that easy credit is accessible to all those interested in starting their own business ventures.
Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha made these remarks during his address at a day-long conference on “Education to Entrepreneurship” here at SKICC.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced super-75 scholarship schemes for meritorious girls. The scholarship scheme was announced on the occasion of International Women's Day 2021 on March 8.

On International Women's Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the launch of Super-75 scholarship scheme to support the education of meritorious girls from poor families, so that they can excel in streams like medicine, engineering, ITI (Industrial training institutes) and humanity and contribute to nation-building.
This is keeping in view of this year's theme of International Women's Day i.e "Choose to Challenge" and to celebrate Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- India@75.

JAMMU / SRINAGAR: International Women’s Day celebrations held at Government College for Women, MA Road, Srinagar witnessed some major reforms being made by the Government for empowering the girl students and women of J&K, with Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha making major announcements that will facilitate the education and entrepreneurship of female folks of the UT.
Keeping in view of this year’s theme of International Women’s Day i.e “Choose to Challenge” and to celebrate Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- India@75, the Lt Governor announced the launch of Super-75 scholarship scheme to support the education of meritorious girls belonging to poor families, so that they can excel in streams like Medicine, Engineering, ITI and Humanity, and contribute to nation building.
