Bengaluru Private Hospitals Must Reserve 50pc Beds For COVID Patients

A notification has been issued by the Karnataka Government mandating reservation of 50% of the beds in all the private hospitals for Covid-19 patients referred by public health officials. This circular was issued as people are finding a lot of difficulty in getting beds even after the allocation is made by the central allocation system of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar has issued a circular stating that all the hospitals registered under Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (KPME) in the state to put up a bed allocation display board at the reception counter. He mentioned that they should mention the following details on the display board: ....

COVID Testing Centres Panic-stricken Public Throng in Telangana

Public health officials have asked people of Telangana not to unnecessarily rush for Covid tests if they don t have symptoms. They explained that as a large number of panic stricken healthy individuals were flocking to PHCs for testing, the deserving candidates who need to be tested are unable to avail the facility.
The medical officers were issued orders to ensure persons with symptoms get access to testing kits and make sure they screen the individuals for symptoms of Covid-19 before conducting Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT).

Officials pointed out instances where individuals got tested thrice in just one week. They stated that people must also realise that they are exposing themselves to infections by turning up in large numbers at the testing centres. ....
