Meta has launched WhatsApp Channels in India, providing a new way for communication. The one-way broadcast tool allows administrators to share text, images, videos, stickers, and polls with a wide audience. Users can access WhatsApp Channels through a new tab called 'Updates' and follow their favorite celebrities, sports teams, artists, and more. The feature includes an Enhanced Directory to help users find channels tailored to their country and allows users to express reactions using emojis.

Encrypted messaging app, Telegram, has launched its much-anticipated Stories feature for all users. Their twist on conventional Stories is the ability to edit stories after posting - easily changing visibility, captions, on-screen text and stickers without deleting and reposting.

Premium users will have additional settings for Stories. Stories have been a common feature in the major social media platforms. The idea started out with Snapchat wherein posts are a way for the platform's users to post a brief clip with a limited duration, and it has made its way to Telegram as well.
