"Heatwave is back over parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, south Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Delhi-NCR," said Mahesh Palawat, vice president (climate change and meteorology), Skymet Weather.
“The city may see generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle on Thursday. The maximum temperature of the day is likely to hover around 42 degrees Celsius,” IMD officials predicted.
Partly cloudy sky, thunderstorms and light showers are expected over Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurugram regions in the next two days, said IMD.
The mercury is predicted to rise up to 41 degrees Celsius over the next four to five days but there is no forecast of a heatwave for another week.
On Thursday (April 28), several places recorded a temperature of above 45 degrees, with the met department predicting the continuation of very hot days over the next few days.
