Organizers of the Fort Smith International Film Festival are preparing for its third edition this summer.

The band Little Feat will perform at Temple Live in Fort Smith Dec. 1 as part of its 45th Anniversary Tour for the album Waiting for Columbus. We recently talked with Fred Tackett, a long-time member of the band and an Arkansas native, about being with the band, and about some of his other career memories.

The second annual Fort Smith Film Festival is a feast for film lovers. Nearly 140 movies from more than 30 countries, nations and tribes will be on display. The festival, all contained inside Temple Live in downtown Fort Smith, begins Friday evening with discussions hosted by the Cherokee Nation Film Office, Arkansas Cinema Society and others.

A sideshow circus troupe invites audiences to "face your fears" as acrobats fly without nets and performers swallow swords and razor blades, eat and breathe fire or walk on broken glass while others perform magic and illusions over a soundtrack of rock 'n' roll.
