A parent of a student who also works for the district. and it was brought to my attention that this book was deemed divisive. and there had been an investigation to follow. so on monday, march 13th, i was placed on administrative leave with pay, and that continued until may 5th when the district let me know that they would be moving towards termination. so you are understanding of this is that it was initiated by a parental complaint? that s what initiated this proceeding? correct, yes. and that complaint was pursuant to the new georgia law that passed with sanctions for teachers if they introduced divisive concepts? yes. it was very vague of how this was brought to their attention, the district, and i was not able to ever define to me how this book was divisive. or what was the divisive about it. this is a book that is inclusive. not divisive. ....
