Mokena family safe after house fire, but deputy fire chief says damage was significant
A family was displaced from a Mokena home after a Wednesday night fire, according to the New Lenox Fire Protection District. Shortly after 10 p.m., fire crews received a call to a raised ranch house in the 18700 block of Marshall Court in Mokena, said Deputy Fire Chief Terry Vavra.
