Prices of parboiled rice from leading exporters, including Vietnam and India, rose due to limited supplies. India's 5% broken parboiled variety saw prices at $505 to $512 per metric ton, the highest in two months.
Rice export rates in Vietnam and Thailand have declined while India's restrictions on parboiled rice exports have halted activity. India's 5% broken rice remained at a static rate of $525-$535 per metric ton, near a record high. Vietnam's 5% broken rice was offered at $610-$620 per metric ton, a decrease from the previous week. Thailand's 5% broken rice prices dropped to $605 per metric ton due to a depreciating baht. Domestic rice prices in Bangladesh remained high despite good yield and record reserves.
