MAJOR resurfacing work on Thamesdown Drive is set to begin next month. Swindon Borough Council announced that temporary 20mph speed limits and road closures will be put in place at busy junctions of one of the town's main arteries. Work will be carried out at the junction with the Orbital Shopping Centre and Haydon Brook Bridge on the northbound carriageway, with overnight closures planned for this section of the road. A £4 MILLION upgrade of Mead Way is set to finish more than 15 months after it started – and Adver readers are not happy. Work on one of the major routes connecting homes in North and West Swindon with the town centre began just before the coronavirus pandemic took hold.
