Nigerian Central Bank Governor, Emefiele Due To Appear In Court Wednesday Over Contempt, Failure To Pay $70Million Judgement Debt

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, is due to appear before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday in respect of contempt proceedings involving a $70 million judgment debt.   A legal practitioner and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi, SAN, had obtained a judgment summons against Emefiele, following his alleged refusal to comply with the order of the court for the payment of the judgment debt.
