Sri Lanka has witnessed 11 more COVID-19 related deaths, Director-General of Health Services confirmed today (May 05).
Thereby, the country’s death toll from the coronavirus outbreak now stands at 720.
01. A 33-year-old man from Kongahawela area: He was diagnosed with novel coronavirus while receiving treatment at the Matale District Hospital. He was then transferred to the Theldeniya Base Hospital where he died on May 03. The cause of death was recorded as acute COVID pneumonia and acute kidney injury.
02. An 84-year-old man from Diyatalawa area: He was transferred from Diyatalawa Base Hospital to Badulla General Hospital after testing positive for the virus. He succumbed to COVID pneumonia, bronchitis and lung fibrosis on May 03. ....

Six new COVID-related deaths were reported in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (April 28), says the Director-General of Health Services.
Following the confirmation of latest coronavirus victims, the country’s death toll now stands at 661.
According to the particulars released by the Government Information Department, the details of the victims are as follows:
01. A 56-year-old man from Pallegama area: He died on April 25 while receiving treatment at the Mawanella Base Hospital. The cause of death was identified as COVID pneumonia.
02. A 45-year-old woman from Weerapokuna area: She was diagnosed with novel coronavirus while receiving medical care at the District General Hospital in Chilaw. She was then moved to the Homagama Base Hospital where she died on April 27. COVID pneumonia and sepsis were cited as the cause of death. ....

Eight more COVID-related deaths were confirmed in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (April 27), says the Director-General of Health Services.
The latest coronavirus victims have pushed the country’s death toll from the pandemic to 655.
According to the Government Information Department, the details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 62-year-old man from Polgolla area: He died while receiving treatment at the Kandy National Hospital on April 23. The cause of death was recorded as COVID pneumonia.
02. A 45-year-old man from Hettipola area: After testing positive for the virus, he was transferred from Kurunegala Teaching Hospital to Kandy National Hospital where he died on April 25. COVID pneumonia was recorded as the cause of death. ....

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that TWO (02) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Monday (Apr. 19), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 620.
The details of the deceased are as follows:
01. A 58-year-old female from Mahawa. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Galgamuwa District Hospital and transferred to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, where she died on 17.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Severe Acute Respiratory Disease Syndrome due to Covid pneumonia.
02. An 84-year-old male from Marassana. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Kandy National Hospital and transferred to Theldeniya Base Hospital, where he died on 19.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Severe Covid pneumonia in the background of Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Dyslipidaemia, and Heart Failure. ....
