Third Brunswick County elementary school returns to remote learning due to COVID
Union Elementary had six active positive cases of COVID and had to transition to remote learning from Feb. 1 through Feb. 15. Students are expected to resume classes as normal on Feb. 16. The county believed students from both schools attended programs outside of the school, which could be the source of the outbreak. The school district and Brunswick County Health maintain daily conversations and work together to determine what steps need to be taken when there is an increase in COVID-19 activity at any particular location.
