‘This Is Us’ Actress Announces Fundraiser For Young Cousin Diagnosed With Fatal Genetic Disease
13-year old “This Is Us” actress Mackenzie Hancsicsak has announced a fundraising event later this month to raise funds and awareness for a rare neurological disorder known as Batten Disease, which has affected Hancsicsak’s five-year-old cousin Ellery.
The fundraiser shared by Hancsicsak is meant to raise funds for treatment for her five-year-old cousin Ellery, who has been diagnosed with Batten’s Disease.
Batten Disease is a rare and often fatal neurological disorder that predominantly impacts children, including Hancsicsak’s cousin who was diagnosed with the CLN6 variation of the disorder.

This Is Us has a nuanced conversation about internalized racism in a complex episode about “Brotherly Love.”

Netflix has renewed its popular docusoaps “Selling Sunset” and “Bling Empire,” and has ordered two new series from the creators of both shows.
In a blog post on Wednesday morning, Brandon Riegg, the streamer’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series, announced the renewals and series orders. “Selling Sunset” has been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5, while a second season of “Bling Empire,” which premiered in January, has also been ordered.

Both shows follow the lives of the 1% in Los Angeles. “Bling Empire” — from executive producers Jeff Jenkins, Ross Weintraub and Reinout Oerlemans, and showrunner Brandon Panaligan — chronicles the ostentatiously fabulous lives of a clique of Asian and Asian American friends. “Selling Sunset,” created by Adam DiVello (“The Hills”) and produced by Lionsgate, follows the high-end realtors at The Oppenheim Group in West Hollywood.

In tonight’s episode of This Is Us we take a look back at Rebecca and Jack when they were about to go home with their children. Jack is packing things up and Rebecca is a bit spaced out, he tells her they can do this. Jack goes to the car to install the car seats, but he doesn’t have a manual. One of the security guards asks him if he wants help and Jack says no he is ok. Then we see Kevin doing the same thing, installing the car seat, but he has video instruction on his phone. A guy walks by and takes pics of him and Kevin loses it and tells him to give him a little dignity. Kevin apologizes, then tells the guy to get another photo. He goes back into the hospital and Madison tells him that they have been released.

The lead actress of the hit show took to social media to announce the birth of her son with her husband Taylor Goldsmith. The couple also shared the first photo of their son and revealed his name as well to all their fans and followers.

Though it wasn’t one of the top programs of Tuesday evening according to Nielsen Live+Same Day fast affiliate numbers (that triumph goes to an original of NBC’s “This Is Us” and to an encore of CBS’ “NCIS”), The CW’s series debut of “Superman & Lois” at 8 p.m. and the “Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope” special both scored substantial primetime numbers compared to the network’s typical ages 18-49 performance. “Superman & Lois” beamed 1.71 million viewers to its premiere telecast and drew a rating of 0.3 in the key demo. The subsequent special also obtained a 0.3 and drew 1.50 million viewers.

Nissa Diederich Named 20th Television Exec VP of Production, Jim Sharp to Depart

Nissa Diederich, most recently the executive vice president of production for Touchstone Television (formerly Fox 21 Television Studios), has been named head of production at 20th Television in the wake of the consolidation of the Walt Disney Company’s TV studios.
Longtime production executive Jim Sharp, who had served as 20th’s production head and spent decades at the company previously known as 20th Century Fox, will depart the studio at the end of the year after assisting with the transition. Known as a smart, seasoned executive, Sharp’s oversight on productions at Fox dates back to shows such as “Malcolm in the Middle” and FX’s “The Shield.”

Disney has named Carlos W. Williams to head business affairs and operations for 20th Television and Freeform, where he will work with 20th TV president Karey Burke and Freeform president Tara Duncan to grow the business operations and deal-making strategies at both entities.
“Carlos is a gifted dealmaker and strategist and he will be a fantastic partner to Karey and Tara as they each run and grow their already successful businesses,” said Walt Disney TV president Craig Hunegs. “Having worked with Carlos at Warner Brothers and over the past year here at Disney, I know he’s an incredible asset to both executives and creators, and the perfect leader for this important new role.”
