Pender County courthouse Hurricane Florence restoration delayed again
In September 2018, driving rain and flooding from Hurricane Florence walloped the Pender County Courthouse in Burgaw, causing major water damage. Now, more than two years later, the 84-year old courthouse is still closed and the ongoing restoration has hit a new snag. At their Monday board meeting, the Pender County Board of Commissioners approved a contract extension that pushes the restoration’s final completion date from Jan. 26 to March 19.
