The Botswana Defence Force Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) have joined hands with the retired military veterans to pressure President Mokgweetsi Masisi and Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Kagiso Mmusi to enact Retired Military Act aimed at addressing the welfare of the ex-servicemen.
Former Minister of Finance and Economic Development Thapelo Matsheka has punched holes in his predecessor Minister Peggy Serame’s budget speech. Matsheka who was dropped from Cabinet by President Mokgweetsi Masisi recently prefaced his contribution to the budget speech by indicating that “It is our duty Mr. Speaker to contribute constructively to the appropriation Bill before parliament notwithstanding the politics of our time.”
