“Just the concept of anybody putting in that many years of service into one’s community is pretty exceptional,” said Mike Richman, acting mayor of Pemberton. “It’s a job as well, but it’s more than that. When you have to be on duty, you’re taking calls and when you’re that active in something like firefighting for that many years, that’s a pretty huge commitment and a pretty huge accomplishment.
