With TikTok now holding as much sartorial sway as Anna Wintour, will 2024 see the end of the fashion trend?
I still remember the main trend from the winter I first started writing about for this paper’s fashion pages, 20 years ago. It was ‘Russian Princess’, a sort of take on Sienna Miller’s boho style (because in the early Noughties, most trends were a sort of take on something Sienna Miller was wearing), meets Doctor Zhivago. Tiered A-line skirts, flouncy blouses, slouchy suede boots, and for the particularly committed, faux fur hats.
