Concerns over Cumbria constituency rejig proposals
AN MP has said he is concerned about losing parts of High Furness as part of a proposed major shake-up of constituency areas. Simon Fell did stress, however, that the suggestions were ‘by no means set in stone’ and it was ‘the start of this process’. The suggested rejig of borders would see Broughton and Kirkby, currently in the Barrow and Furness voting area, moved into a newly-named ‘Copeland and the Western Lakes’ constituency.
