400 Emirates flights were cancelled after flooding hit Dubai last week, leaving the airlines dealing with one of its toughest weeks operationally.
Alison Shah and partner Richard Kay had to travel for three days, using three flights and seven taxis to get home.
"We know our response has been far from perfect. We acknowledge and understand the frustration of our customers," Emirates Airline CEO Tim Clark wrote.
