Brennan Asplen is leaving as Sarasota County's school chief, but that shouldn't change our responsibility to keep the School Board accountable.
The deal comes after two new school board members were sworn in, creating a 4-1 conservative majority.
The four-member majority is pursuing ambitions in line with extremely conservative groups, including Moms for Liberty. Expect more turmoil in future.
Superintendent Brennan Asplen would be paid a total of about $170,000, along with moving expenses, upon departure.
