Too much onus on this algorithmic and program trading. the only real side i saw is when the the dow went down 1,600 flirted by high frequency trading. the rest of the times the moves that some volatile and radical are people selling stock actively, taking profits and guys trying to pick bottoms. technical trading. i don't see this. there are algorithms that run, people try to catch up. time algorithms, volume algorithms and whatnot. the way the market is trading like this with huge swoops up and down, i believe this is real people buying and selling stocks. >> neil: i hope you're right, peter....

Mark funds. we heard the closing bell in the building behind me. to your point, the dow, s&p and nasdaq even with the 300 points on the upside, you'll have a down week. we were down today, we would have said this was the worst week since 08. we avoided that distinction if nothing else. look at individual stocks. a growing number of s&p 500 companies, big companies, are now in what we call bear market territory. meaning they pulled back at least 20% from their highs. you put big companies like ups, ge, ibm and ford in those categories. we'll see what happens next week. the pros are telling us, ...
