AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - After cancelling collection events last year and having less Boy Scouts to canvas this spring, The High Plains Food Bank is expanding donation options for their annual Scouting for Food event.
âItâs traditionally one of our largest spring food drives and it had to be canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, but itâs back this year and the Boy Scouts made some adjustments to allow the entire community to participate,â said Tina Brohlin, director of development at HPFB.
High Plains Food Bank continues churning out food boxes around the clock. Today, we spoke with
Tina Brohlin, HPFB’s Director of Development, about their organization’s need for volunteers in their warehouse facility, primarily assembling food boxes for expedited delivery. “Due to the increased demand and distribution, we critically need volunteer support to get food out to individuals and families across the Texas Panhandle,” Brohlin said. The food bank is actively seeking individuals or small groups of up to 15 people: families, coworkers, church groups, etc. to volunteer in the warehouse.
Volunteer hours available are:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-noon, 1:00pm-4:00pm or 6:00pm-8:00pm & Saturdays from 9:00am-noon. Register your group to volunteer at the HPFB through this
