There is a Community Healing Gathering from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Curyung Tribal Hall. People can stop in at any time. It's hosted by the Curyung Tribal Council Wellness Committee and the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation’s Opioid Overdose Prevention Program.

On a windy Saturday this month, ten women gathered in the tundra for the Women’s and Two Spirit Dancing Circle, organized by Dillingham resident Maria Dosal.
In 2018, a Bristol Bay artist began to raise awareness of the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people. She sewed an enormous qaspeq and drew the faces of Alaska Native women who have gone missing or were murdered. That project has grown into an international call for action.
