Rosslare residents bring traffic to a halt as IPAS centre protests continue in village
For over a week now residents from Rosslare Harbour have been manning three separate posts in protest at the proposed development of a second International Protection Accommodation Services (IPAS) centre in the village. With one group situated outside the Dock Boutique Hotel leading in to the port, one outside the entrance to what was once the Great Southern Hotel, and another at the site’s service entry, residents have been campaigning for the old building to be developed into a nursing home as was originally intended before it was announced it was to be turned into an IPAS centre.
