Members of the Planning Board on Tuesday said the proposed 43 new apartments in downtown and in the South End are sorely needed.
Tom and Tracy Nale buy 99 Main St., the former Al Corey music building adjacent to the Arnold Block that the siblings bought in spring 2018.
The larger project is a 37-unit apartment complex proposed by KVCAP in the city's South End, while the second one seeks to build six downtown units on Main Street.
Democrat challenger Rebecca Green defeated Republican incumbent Sydney Mayhew for the Ward 4 seat on the City Council.
While board members voted 5-2 Monday to approve parking plans for the hotel, they decided to wait until July 1 to take a vote on final plans for the project.
