Takeaway drinks will be back on the menu for pubs when they are allowed to reopen after lockdown. In a “lifeline” to venues, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesman has said once beer gardens reopen during step two of the road map out of lockdown, Britons will be able to get a takeaway pint. That means they could be offering drinks-to-go from April 12. The serving of alcohol to take away has not been permitted since the last national lockdown began.
