University of South Africa (Unisa) has denied that honorary doctorate degrees were handed over to socialite Phemphero Mphande, Malawian musician Patience Namadingo and Mansoor Sharif Karim.
Duplicate qualification certificates are not issued when the original is lost or damaged.
The council of the University of South Africa has succeeded in obtaining an urgent order setting aside Blade Nzimande’s decision on Unisa.
Huma said it must be made clear that the university is not fighting.
The prestigious event was held at the Unisa's main campus in Tshwane on the evening of Friday, 28 October, led by the university Chancellor, former President Thabo Mbeki.
