Launched by the town's mayor, Tony Bishopp, the 2021 Mayor's Community Awards will acknowledge outstanding contribution and commitment and recognise those who have worked selflessly for their fellow residents. He said: âIt is important that as a council we publicly recognise the valuable work of volunteers, paid workers and community-based organisations across our communities who have worked selflessly throughout the past year, especially more so since the Covid pandemic began, in assisting residents of Hunstantonâ.

Town councillors were informed of the incident during a virtual meeting last night, when planned discussions on other issues relating to the building were halted. Mayor Tony Bishopp said no-one had been hurt in the incident, but added: âItâs something we need to look at urgently.
