High winds are responsible for a motorcycle accident on Iowa Highway 141 west of Coon Rapids on Saturday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, just east of Sycamore Avenue, at approximately 12:48 p.m. Fifty-four-year-old Tonya Kaye Williams of Ankeny was eastbound on a 2016 Indian Scout. She was traveling with other cyclists, when a strong gust of wind caused her to lose control and enter the north ditch. The motorcycle tipped onto its side and Williams fell off. She was transported by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury. There was an estimated $500 in damage to the motorcycle. Saturday afternoon winds were reported at more than 26 miles per hour from the southwest with periodic higher gusts. ....
