TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - With his nomination to lead Customs and Border Protection, Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus’ potential departure could leave the department in a precarious place, but city leaders say they are confident of a smooth transition if Magnus takes on the new role.
Right now, the Tucson Police Department is in the midst of a hiring and personnel crisis, with fewer than 750 deployable officers and dwindling recruits in training. Should Magnus seize the national nomination, a search for his replacement won’t be easy. ....
