From 2015 through 2018, troopers stole thousands of dollars by arriving late and leaving early from shifts of federally funded overtime, authorities said.

A federal jury in Worcester on Tuesday convicted Lt. Daniel Griffin, of Belmont, and Sgt. William Robertson, of Westboro, on one count each of conspiracy, one count each of theft concerning a federal program and four counts each of wire fraud.

Lieutenant Daniel J. Griffin and Sergeant William W. Robertson are scheduled to be sentenced March 20 following their convictions on conspiracy, theft, and wire fraud charges, according to Acting US Attorney Joshua S. Levy’s office.
