Neighbors say they don't want another liquor store to replace Merwin Liquors at Lyndale and Broadway, a troubled area in Minneapolis. They are asking the city to block the transfer of the store's liquor license to a new owner.
"We haven't had an additional offense on this corner so that we could file our injunction," said AG Ellison.
The intersection at Broadway and Lyndale in Minneapolis has long been considered one of the most dangerous spots in the city. But, work being done by a community group and their new resource center is helping the area make a transformation.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Breakfast Klub Minneapolis at Lagoon Ave. and Fremont Ave. S. in Uptown.
Thursday's shooting was the second on Uptown's 1300 Lagoon block in the last four months.
