Reinforcing speculation that a pilot did it deliberately, not someone inexperienced who entered the cockpit. and new information today from thailand about when this happened. takeoff, 12:41 a.m. 1:07 the onboard computer checks in with the ground. at 1:19, copilot says, all right, good night. at 1:21, the transponder which makes the plane visible the civilian radar stops. a minute later thai military sees the plane on the normal flight path, but five minutes later it turns west. 1:37 acars duds not transmit data as scheduled. damaged or deliberate? we don t know. 2:15, the plane is last seen on malaysian radar. six hours later last seen on satellite. what the shows is that what this shows is that whoever moved this plane and why it did this turn was because the plane did it itself, but the plane only could have done it if ....

Plane took, the u-turn back across malaysia was programmed in to an on-board computer. someone basically told the auto pilot to reverse its course. this as we get conflicting reports about those critical communication systems and when they were shut down. trace gallagher picks up that part of the story. trace? and megyn, let me just start from the beginning, beginning with the transponder, which stands for transmitter responders. in the triple 7, the transponder is right between the co-pilot and pilot and console. there is a radio dial that goes there left to right just like one in your car and flips off easily. there is also a backup transponder that turns off just as easily. then there is acars, aircraft transmission and reporting system. then there is one on the console. acars sends out a text message every 50 minutes, like a twitter ....

Anything odd on a radar will sound the alarm. there were too many people who saw this plane doing some odd things, flying on a route that wasn t supposed to be there, without transponder and they didn t do anything about it. that, to me, so far, is the biggest scandal. i m coming at this from an american perspective. if someone in the united states noticed some strange plane flying around i would like to think that the united states would react to that. i guarantee you that the united states would react to it. that is why some of the more fancy full suggestions about how this plane may have gone so far north across india or pakistan, across up towards kazakhstan, they are just fanciful in some ways. there are enough radar systems that somebody would have spotted it. look. it is just about believable, the ....

We call it a high dive in the simulators. and the first thing you do is put on your oxygen mask. so they would be able to now get the airplane off its intended course, get it down and turn it, if wanted, to an airport suitable for its landing. but they also would have communicated an emergency to air traffic control either via radio or via acars or via the transponder. it looks like this, the depressure nob, if you will. and do you buy the notion that there could have been a fire in cabin? i don t. because again, i think the pilots, a fire is a slow growing thing. they would have had the ability to communicate. do you agree? absolutely. so you both think there was a human being responsible for this a 0 positived to that s my opinion. ....

I wonder if you share that a and b, is that professional solidarity or something else? i think any pilot is loathe to question the abilities of another professional pilot. this captain, in particular, had a lot of experience. however, i keep trying to jump on some logic train that would lead me away from the crew and coincidence keeps getting in the way. the coincidence, for example, that just two minutes after the last communication, the transponder was turned off. that the fact that the airplane turned just as it was transferring from malaysian airspace into vietnamese airspace where they would have additional radar coverage happen. also the fact that the airplane was flown deliberately and apparently descended deliberately perhaps in an attempt to avoid radar. i would really want to know if either one of these crew members was prior malaysian military and had a knowledge of radar coverage along the malaysian coast. one more coincidence, the fact that the airplane apparently ....
