Beloit man sentenced to prison for 2018 sexual assault of child
January 24, 2021 A Beloit man fails his second chance and is headed to prison. When 20-year-old Mar’Kai Payne pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2019, Rock County Judge John Wood withheld sentencing and placed him on probation. Payne violated that probation and had the felony hold-open agreement revoked. On Friday, Judge Wood sentenced him to six years in prison followed by six years of extended supervision.
