While elaborating the importance of the Survey, the DDC said it would be helpful to roll out targeted measures like better healthcare and education, convenience in movement, enrollment in beneficiary oriented schemes besides providing livestock and other income generating units for the Nomads/Migratory population for their overall socioeconomic upliftment and welfare.
Dr. Singla informed that these teams shall visit the highland pastures/bahaks/dhokas and the necessary logistic support has been provided to the team members.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad, who is the Nodal Officer for the exercise said that necessary training have been imparted to the concerned officials in this regard.

The Health workers are vaccinating the age appropriate persons, who have not taken the vaccine or are due for second dose.
The efforts have paid well as most of the eligible population among the tribals have received their first dose.
While appreciating the efforts of health workers, Deputy Commissioner Charandeep Singh said that administering vaccines to tribal populations was the most difficult task. Most of these hamlets are in far-flung areas and reaching such areas to cover left outs is a great achievement” he added.
