We are always balancing the need to speak the truth with the need to treat with respect those who have been set over us in the Church.
Holiness is priority one, but it is not the only thing needed. We still need a large dose of basic human competence guided by genuine human prudence.
There is no substitute for proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ because there is no substitute for responding to Christ’s message through a change of heart.
The most important conceptual problem with all this is that desire should never be considered to be definitive of being.
