Migrant worker gets clearance for employment action against Marton liquor store
A former employee of Marton Wholesale Liquor says he was wrongly fired and not properly paid. A Rangitīkei liquor store has failed to get struck out legal action by a former employee who is a migrant worker. Employment Relations Authority member Trish MacKinnon said in a ruling issued in December the claims made by Ranjeet Singh against Marton Wholesale Liquor, if true, amounted to “exploitation of a migrant worker”.
