The dogs will wear a GPS collar to track how far, fast and for how long they work over a three-week period from August 16 to September 5. Josh Tosh, a casual shepherd, has entered his up and coming dog Trix because she’s agile, fit and works about 10 hours a day. He’s had her since she was 10 weeks old and trained her himself. At two and a half years old she’s an up and comer in his pack of 12 working dogs that he has. Tosh entered the event because he was curious to find out what the data would reveal on the logistics of just how much work dogs do in a day.
