The Trojans are on the upswing as they finished 4-1 in their Trojan Duals tournament Saturday, with their only loss coming to Albia. Coach Heath DeForest tells KNIA Sports that his team’s love for the sport separates them from the rest of the teams in the state.
“What I do know is that we have a group of kids that love the sport and come in every day and work their tails off. Just for me personally, from previous years we had that but it wasn’t a whole team buy-in. This year, it is a whole team buy-in. There are 24 guys and gals bing in so it is awesome to see this program going in the right direction.” ....
This tournament will be the first time Pleasantville has competed on the mats since the Mustang Invitational Tournament at PCM where they placed 6th. This will also be the first time the Trojans are on their home mats since their conference tournament on December 16th. Coach Heath DeForest tells KNIA Sports that the toughest team he will go up against is Albia.
“Albia is always tough. Their lightweights are just hammers. They always produce good wrestlers and they got some young talent in their upperweights that I am sure is going to do some good things for them in the future.” ....
