Learn how to plan before this year s hurricane season comes. Hurricanes and other great storms are some of the most widespread natural disasters and constitute a serious danger to anyone on their way.
There is an average of around 12 named storms every year, between tropical storms and hurricanes. And sadly, we can t project when they ll strike.
Though we can t exactly predict when a hurricane will strike, there is a hurricane season during which great storms are most likely to occur, with September being the most likely month for the occurrence of hurricane.
According to Ready.gov hurricane season differs for various parts of the country. Atlantic: June 1 - November 30; Eastern Pacific: May 15 - November 30; Central Pacific: June 1 - November 30
