At a recent West Bonner County School District board meeting, Superintendent Branden Durst shared with the community that he had been informed that morning of $896,859 in funding from last year’s levy, which can be spent on anything within that levy budget.
New West Bonner County School District Superintendent Branden Durst said the delay in submitting his application for provisional certification to lead the school district stems from one thing: he's following Idaho law. "At this time, my application has not been submitted because board minutes have not yet been approved reflecting the board's approval of the emergency declaration," Durst told the Daily Bee in an email. However, Idaho State Department of Education officials said they just need the date the declaration of emergency was approved and the date of Durst's hire.
The Idaho State Board of Education has yet to receive an application from Branden Durst or from West Bonner County School District for an emergency provisional certification to serve as the district's superintendent. Durst did not respond to a phone call or email seeking comment on the status of his application, including when it had been submitted.
The district's leader told EdNews last month he’ll begin the position with a provisional certificate — which is still an unfulfilled promise.
The triumvirate of Keith Rutledge, Troy Reinbold, and Susan Brown has secured the majority vote of the West Bonner County School District board of trustees in order to turn the school district around and bring it to prosperity, all so the students can have the best education possible, correct?
