In another chilling incident, a 40-year-old jobless man in Maharashtra s Palghar allegedly killed his wife, hid her body in a bed, and sold off all household articles before trying to flee by train, police said on Wednesday.
The stolen property includes gold ornaments and 64 mobile handsets, which were either stolen and recovered from offenders or were lost and found in various areas.

THANE: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly cheating people by stealing their ATM cards on the pretext of offering to help them with cash withdrawals at ATM centres in Maharashtra s Thane district, police said on Friday.
The police have arrested Rohit Pandey (29) and Lakhendar Paswan (31) and recovered 41 stolen ATM cards from them, senior inspector Pramod Badak of crime unit-Virar said.
Investigations have revealed that the accused allegedly pretended to help customers at the ATM centres and stole their cards, replacing them with fake ones, he said.
Two sustain injuries after assailants open fire in Nalasopara

Palghar: Two persons sustained bullet injuries after three unknown assailants opened fire and attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon outside a bar in the
Nalasopara area of Palghar on Sunday, said police.
According to police, the incident happened at around 9:30 pm yesterday.
Rajendra Kamble, in-charge of the
Tulinj police station said, Two persons have sustained bullet injuries and one of them has sustained injuries on the head. Four rounds of firing took place by three people. Those injured have been shifted to the hospital.
The police official said that weapon from the spot has been confiscated and further investigation into the matter is underway.
