The storied Seanote has finally left its problematic winter port: A Lake Minnetonka boat launch parking lot.
A 58-foot yacht named Seanote became a legend on Lake Minnetonka this winter after it got stuck in the frozen lake, with crews working for days to get it out of the water.
I have a Master TC-20 airbrush compressor like shown in the picture below that I use for running my model turbines and steam engines When I started testing my model turbines and engines. I calculated the mass flow as described in Testing Models. Because all the flow was going through nozzles with published efficiencies and air acts like a perfect gas, I trusted these calculated mass flows. I have always assumed that the mass flow was constant for a positive displacement air compressor when using different pressures. I just noticed this compressor listed a flow of 0.8 cfm which I assumed to be...
Posted by John Haine on 17/02/2021 13:20:13: Did you buy the collet set from a seller apparently in Wales (Mountain Ash)? I bought an ER16 one from him, runout was awful and the small nut would not take smaller collets. I returned it as not fit for purpose and got a refund. The Ebay seller for the collet set I bought is jolgr3162 and has 99% positive feedback. He stated that the manufacturer was JJG Turning Milling Devices. All the parts came in sealed wrappers that had never been opened so I felt the seller was not at fault. I was unable to contact JJG Turning Milling Devices and don't kno...
I designed Drag Rotor 3 following all the guidelines from Shapeways. The two guidelines I missed on Drag Rotor 2 were keeping the minimum thickness greater than 0.6mm minimum for bronze and having a sharp edge on a thin section. The blades on Drag Rotor 3 are 0.6mm thick and have a round end. The following picture shows a 3D view of the blades. The drawing for this rotor will be shown in the next post. I should point out that Shapeways minimum thickness is not the same for all materials so should be checked. I may try this rotor if I have a problem with Drag Rotor 2 since it will work w...
